City Council moves to put cannabis industry tax on November ballot

By a 5-0 vote on Wednesday, on a motion by councilman Larry Stranske and second by councilman Gerry Gonzalez, the Willits City Council approved submission of a voter measure on the Nov. 6, 2018 ballot to establish a cannabis industry tax on commercial cannabis businesses which if passed by voters, will allow the city to impose tax rates on licensed cannabis businesses expected to start operations within the city in the next year.
