Oroville council to consider making way for cannabis in city code – Chico Enterprise

OROVILLE — The Oroville City Council is expected to hold two cannabis-related public hearings on Tuesday, concerning business licenses and also changes to the city’s zoning code.

The meeting’s format will be a little unusual. It will start a little early, at 6 p.m., when the council will make any closed session announcements, issue a proclamation and listen to public comment on non-agenda items. Then the council will take a recess while the Oroville Planning Commission takes over.

The Planning Commission will host a public hearing to consider changing the city zoning code, including new land use regulations for cannabis businesses. There is a drafted ordinance which the commission recommends the City Council approves, according to the agenda.

Commissioners include: Adonna Brand, Michael Britton, Randy Chapman, Wyatt Jenkins, Justin McDavitt, Vice Chairperson Carl Durling and Chairperson Damon Robison.
