Facebook is finally deciding to play nice with pages related to cannabis.
The social media website lifted its ban on marijuana-related businesses last week, allowing legal companies to obtain official verifications and appear in user searches, reports Forbes.
Facebook will now list cannabis businesses that have received verification from the system. Businesses and organizations are discernable by a gray verification mark, as opposed to the blue verification given to public companies and brands. Legal pot brands and companies will have to provide a publicly listed phone number to qualify.
“We are constantly working to improve our search results so that we minimize the opportunity for people to attempt illicit drug sales while showing content that is allowed on Facebook and is relevant to what you are searching,” Facebook spokeswoman Sarah Pollack told MarketWatch. “When searching ‘cannabis’ or ‘marijuana,’
