Police: Mom, son arrested with 36 bags of cereal laced with THC, other marijuana edibles

HALEDON — A mother and son from Paterson were pulled over with more than 35 bags of cereal laced with THC and other marijuana edibles, police said.

Connie Rivera, 48, and Jason Rivera, 27, had a total of more than five pounds of the drug in their possession when Patrolman Christian Clavo stopped their 2002 Chevrolet SUV in the parking lot of Burger King, at 168 Belmont Ave., at 8:42 a.m. on Monday, said Lt. George Guzmán.

The lieutenant said neither Connie Rivera, who was driving, nor her son was wearing a seat belt and that she did not signal to turn at the corner of Cook and W. Clinton streets.
